  • Janet Doe Lectureship, Medical Library Association (2010)

    Recognizes and individual for his/her unique perspective on the history or philosophy of medical librarianship.

     

  • ALISE Award for Teaching Excellence in the Field of Library and Information Science Education, Association for Library and Information Science Education (2009)

    Recognizes the teaching excellence of an educator in the area of library and information science.

     

  • Librarian of the Year Award, SCC/MLA (2007)

    Recognizes the contributions of a member of SCC/MLA for outstanding contributions to health sciences librarianship.

     

  • Librarian of the Year Award, HealthLINE (2006-2007)

    Recognizes the contributions of a member of HealthLINE who has demonstrated significant accomplishments in medical librarianship.

     

  • Lucretia W. McClure Excellence in Education Award, Medical Library Association (2000)

    Given to outstanding practicing librarians or library educators in the field of health sciences librarianship and informatics.

     

  • G. Roland Vela Award, University of North Texas (2001)

    Given to individuals or groups who have made significant contributions to the education of Hispanics.  Dr. Cleveland received this award for her contributions to the field of health librarianship and informatics.

     

  • El Consulado General de Mexico Award (1999)

    Recognizes her work in Mexico promoting health information through the Health Informatics Program.

     

  • American Medical Informatics Associationís Generalís Club Award for Outstanding Membership (1992)

    Honors her contributions to AMIA and supporting the membership of the association.

     

  • Research Award (Contributed Papers/Poster)- South Central Chapter of the Medical Library Association and South Central Academic Medical Libraries (Papers: 2005, 2006, & 2009 and Poster: 2007)

Gale G. Hannigan, MLS, MPH, PhD, AHIP

  • Lucretia W. McClure Excellence in Education Award, Medical Library Association (2011)

    Given to outstanding practicing librarians or library educators in the field of health sciences librarianship and informatics.


  • The Institute for Scientific Information/Medical Library Association Doctoral Fellowship (1996)

    Given to doctoral students to support research or travel in the area of health sciences librarianship or information sciences.

     

  • Estelle Brodman Award for Academic Medical Librarian of the Year, Medical Library Association (1996)

    Honors an academic medical librarian who demonstrates significant achievement, the potential for leadership, and continuing excellence.

    Given for her contributed paper, written with Will Olmstadt, entitled "Systematic Training for Patient Support Groups."
