Faculty


Ana Cleveland, MS, PhD, AHIP

  • Librarian of the Year Award, HealthLINE (2006-2007)

    Recognizes the contributions of a member of HealthLINE who has demonstrated significant accomplishments in medical librarianship.

     

  • Lucretia W. McClure Excellence in Education Award, Medical Library Association (2000)

    Given to outstanding practicing librarians or library educators in the field of health sciences librarianship and informatics.

  • G. Roland Vela Award, University of North Texas (2001)

    Given to individuals or groups who have made significant contributions to the education of Hispanics.  Dr. Cleveland received this award for her contributions to the field of health librarianship and informatics.

  • El Consulado General de Mexico Award (1999)

    Recognizes her work in Mexico promoting health information through the Health Informatics Program.

  • American Medical Informatics Association’s General’s Club Award for Outstanding Membership (1992)

    Honors her contributions to AMIA and supporting the membership of the association.

  • Research Award (Contributed Papers)- South Central Chapter of the Medical Library Association and South Central Academic Medical Libraries (2005 & 2006)

Gale G. Hannigan, MLS, MPH, PhD, AHIP

  • The Institute for Scientific Information/Medical Library Association Doctoral Fellowship (1996)

    Given to doctoral students to support research or travel in the area of health sciences librarianship or information sciences.

     

  • Estelle Brodman Award for Academic Medical Librarian of the Year, Medical Library Association (1996)

    Honors an academic medical librarian who demonstrates significant achievement, the potential for leadership, and continuing excellence.

Kathy Hoffman, MLS, AHIP

  • Distinguished Service Award, South Central Chapter of the Medical Library Association (2001)

    Recognizes outstanding service to the SCC/MLA. 

     

  • Estelle Brodman Award for Academic Medical Librarian of the Year, Medical Library Association (1990)

    Honors an academic medical librarian who demonstrates significant achievement, the potential for leadership, and continuing excellence.

Michelynn McKnight, MLIS, AHIP

  • Research Award for a Contributed Paper, South Central Chapter of the Medical Library Association (1999)

    Given for her contributed paper entitled “Interlibrary Loan Availability of Nursing in a Five State Region.”

  • Research Grant, South Central Academic Medical Libraries Consortium (SCAMeL)

    Given for her work on "Interlibrary Loan Availability of Nursing Journals in the SCAMeL Region."

  • Mayo Drake Scholarship, South Central Chapter of the Medical Library Association (1996-1997)

    Allows library science students to attend the SCC/MLA annual meeting. 

Margaret Anderson

  • Research Award for Contributed Papers (2nd place), South Central Chapter of the Medical Library Association (2002) 

    Given for her contributed paper, written with Will Olmstadt, entitled "Systematic Training for Patient Support Groups."  

Mandrell Bufford

  • Mayo Drake Scholarship, South Central Chapter of the Medical Library Association (2006)

    Allows library science students to attend the SCC/MLA annual meeting. 

Nancy Burford  

  • Mayo Drake Scholarship, South Central Chapter of the Medical Library Association (1997-1998)

    Allows library science students to attend the SCC/MLA annual meeting. 

Shamsha Damani 

  • MLA Scholarship for Minority Students (2005)

    Given to minority library science students to attend an ALA-accredited library school.

Anne Ellis

  • HealthLINE Consortium Student Travel Award (2005)

    Allows library science students to attend the SCC/MLA annual meeting. 

Sheila Green

  • Mayo Drake Scholarship, South Central Chapter of the Medical Library Association (2006)

    Allows library science students to attend the SCC/MLA annual meeting. 

Jean Hillyer

  • HealthLINE Travel Award, Consortia of the Metroplex Health Sciences Librarians (2000)

    Allows library science students to attend the SCC/MLA annual meeting. 

Sharon Jenkins

Felicia Little

Patricia Reese

Roberto Salinas

  • Hispanic Health Sciences Librarianship Scholarship, NLM (2001)

  • Funded by the National Network of Libraries for Medicine-South Central Region and aimed to recruit outstanding Hispanics to work in health sciences libraries.

Beverlee Warren

  • Medical Library Association Scholarship (2001)

  • Granted to a student entering an ALA-accredited library school or who has yet to finish at least one half of the school's requirements. 

Jill Whitfill

  • HealthLINE Travel Award, Consortia of the Metroplex Health Sciences Librarians (2006)

    Allows library science students to attend the SCC/MLA annual meeting. 

Peter Zhang
