Every year, the Medical Library Association (MLA) honors professional excellence in health librarianship. This year Dr. Ana D. Cleveland was honored at the Awards Ceremony during MLA/CHLA-ABSC 2000 meeting in Vancouver, BC.

Lucretia McClure Excellence in Education Award
Because of her dedication and enthusiasm for teaching, Ana Cleveland, Ph.D., AHIP, professor, Library and Information Science, University of North Texas, Denton, was selected to receive the second annual Lucretia McClure Excellence in Education Award. Notably, Lucretia McClure received the first award.
The award honors a professional with accomplishments in health sciences librarianship education whose work has had an impact on the profession. Cleveland, a Distinguished Member of the Academy, is widely recognized in the profession for her research focusing on curriculum enhancement but is appreciated most for her commitment to mentoring.
