Question Sets
Forty percent of your grade will be determined by the completion of the weekly excercises, and the Internet Scavenger Hunt Workbook. There is only one way to learn about law books and computer assisted legal research and that is to use these resources. Lectures alone make legal literature abstract and dull.
You will be asked to complete problem exercises that will require using legal materials and research techniques in a law library. The weekly assignments are DUE AT THE END OF THE CLASS SESSION FOR WHICH THEY ARE ASSIGNED. No credit will be given for unexcused late assignments. You must complete all of the weekly assignments in order to satisfactorily complete the course.

Thirty percent of the course grade will be based upon the project -the annotated legal bibliography or pathfinder that each student is required to write. Students should meet with the instructor by the third class meeting to discuss the possible topic. A list of suggested bibliography topics is included in the Coursebook.
The bibliography/pathfinder is due by the end of class in the instructor's office on the Saturday, December 18, 1998.
Final Examination
Twenty percent of the grade in the course will be determined by the final examination covering the entire course.
The final examination will be a take home examination designed to test your understanding of the tools and techniques involved in legal research and your understanding of legal publishing and bibliography in general. It will be composed of some combination of objective, short answer and essay questions as well as legal research problems. The take home final examination is due by 5:00 p.m. in the instructor's office on Friday, December 18, 1998.
