GOVERNMENT INFORMATION INDEXES AND DIRECTORIES

Specialized indexes, directories or lists for government and regulatory information on the Internet include sites created by government departments or agencies as well as Universities, such as the Federal Web Locator.  Created by the Villanova University Center for Law and Policy, this is the Internet index to United States Federal Government Web Sites.  It is intended to be the one stop shopping point for federal government information on the World Wide Web. This list is maintained to bring the cyber citizen to the federal government's doorstep.

Major cites are also available from government agencies and departments including the U.S. House of Representatives Internet Law Library and the House of Representatives HomePage.   The House of Representatives on-line law library was developed by the House Information Systems (H.I.S.) as part of  a demonstration project for the Office of the Legislative Counsel of the U.S. House of Representatives and the Office of the Law Revision Counsel of the U.S. House of Representatives. The directories contain over 1,600 links to the law resources of the Internet. Full text federal and state laws, Treaties and International law in full-text, are some of the materials available.  The U.S. House of Representatives' World Wide Web Homepage service provides public access to legislative information as well as information about Members, Committees, and Organizations of the House and to other U.S. government information resources.
