This is your guide to the more than 12,000 different books, periodicals, posters, pamphlets and subscription services available for sale from the Superintendent of Documents, U.S. Government Printing Office.  Because it would be impractical to list all 12,000 publications in one catalog, these publications are listed in more than 150 free subject catalogs. Each catalog, known as a "Subject Bibliography," is devoted to one broad area of interest. There is an alphabetical listing of Subject Bibliographies as well as a more detailed index to the subject areas.

This database serves as a guide to Government information products currently offered for sale by the Superintendent of Documents and is arranged by GPO stock numbers; International Standard Book Numbers; Superintendent of Documents classification numbers and alphabetically by subjects, titles, agency series and report numbers, key words and phrases, and authors. The PRF also includes citations to forthcoming Government information products as well as to titles which have recently been superseded or gone out of print.
