A WELCOME MESSAGE

Welcome to Creating Ripples and Making Waves!

The stories you will experience here are based on characters or events which somehow effect great change—either within the characters themselves and the community/town, as in the story of “Stone Soup” (“Creating Ripples”)—or possibly an entire society or generation, such as the events of 9/11 (“Making Waves”).
 
Whether the story is one of seeming “insignificance,” such as the tale of a man who falls asleep on the job and burns the soap he was making, inadvertently creating a soap which floats (Ivory Soap); or stories of men such as William Wilberforce or Abraham Lincoln whose lives affected generations of people through their service to humanity and their stand on the abolition of slavery, each tale demonstrates the impact and consequences of the characters' decisions and actions.
 
The Stories presented here, by our storytellers, all have a consistent theme, that of Choices or Change and the Consequences these bring.  Here you will experience stories about choices that have a “ripple” effect, eventually changing individual lives and possibly, the world as a whole.  These are tales about the consequences of our choices and/or actions, whether deliberate or unintentional, the “rippling” effects they can have, and the “waves” they can sometimes ultimately make.

It is our sincerest hope that you will not only enjoy the time you spend with us here,
but that you will come away with something that somehow changes you, too—
something which makes a ripple or a wave within your heart—and maybe your life.

As you navigate your way through “Making Ripples and Creating Waves” we would like to encourage you to meet the participating storytellers by reading the Storyteller Biographies on the “concert page”, which will give you a glimpse into the lives of these individuals, where they have come from, and where they hope to go.

This concert was designed to provide enjoyment, provoke introspection, and most of all to give inspiration to each of you to Create your own Ripples and Make your own Waves!

A Story Abstract link has been provided to acquaint you with each story’s source material, classification, its rating (G, PG etc.) as well as a brief summary of the storyline so you have an idea of what to expect—and maybe whet your appetite!
