I will graduate in May with my MLS from UNT. I hope to secure a job working with youth, although I currently enjoy the work I do in the reference department at the University of Texas at Arlington.

B.A. English -- Creative Writing emphasis
My forth grade teacher told me I had the mind of a writer. Ever since then, I have been observing people, literature and film to learn about the structure of story. I have always told stories informally, but my first formal storytelling class was not until two years ago. It was a class for my SLIS program, and I enjoyed it so much that I will receive an Academic Certificate in Storytelling when I graduate. I like to tell stories that take "old standards" and give them a twist of the unexpected, and I also like to tell stories about people I know. Further, I like singing simple folk ballads.
I also dabble in creative writing and photography. I believe these are both forms of storytelling.
