INTRODUCTORY INFORMATION

My family moved to Las Vegas in 1993, when my husband retired from the Air Force. We have lived all over the world, including CA, VA, WA, AZ, Japan and Germany. I have worked at UNLV Library for the past 13 years, in periodicals, government publications and maps. I have a husband, five grown children and seven grandchildren who are all fascinating and provide fodder for many possible stories. I aspire to be a Children/Youth Librarian.

STORYTELLING INTERESTS

I am attracted to telling stories because they help us all to connect as human beings. There is an emotion that can be expressed in no other way. Storytelling is also fun, and I enjoy the humorous aspect as well. My mother's father (deceased) was an inveterate storyteller, and there are now many of his descendents that tell his stories and have added theirs. He used his stories to teach his children and grandchildren moral lessons in a fun way, and he also composed numerous poems about us at Christmas time.

MISCELLANEOUS

I have a related interest in scrapbooking (I see this as creating stories with pictures and journaling). I enjoy reading, listening to audio books, and many crafts. I also enjoy music and singing (mostly in the shower!) An ongoing passion I have is to collect children's picture books.
