Abstract/Summary:

This story tells about the life of Rachel Carson. She was a writer and a biologist. Her book Silent Spring brought national attention to the dangers of pesticides. Her work inspired the today's environmental movement. The story is told from the point of view of a woman reflecting on her discovery of Rachel Carson. It was created from facts about the life of Rachel Carson, from memories of a coworker and from my childhood.
