Websites About Heroes features select biographies of achievers. You may find a mentor that will inspire you by searching through various facets.


America's Story is a project sponsored by the Library of Congress. This section is called Meet Amazing Americans. The site includes quizzes about different people, and includes biography listings under the different arenas that these Americans have influenced.


BBC sponsors this site that includes short biographies of many influential historical figures. This link is for the biographies, but if you click on the homepage from there, you will find additional resources including animations, pictures, and videos.


CNN sponsors a weekly story that features everyday people that are changing the world. International nominations are considered for the weekly feature.


Do Something is a site to learn about volunteering. You can key in your zip code and find local volunteer activities, or you can browse through causes that you are passionate about and find new ways to help.


Giraffe Heroes Project is a non-profit organization that moves people to stick their neck out for the common good. They sponsor the K-12 Giraffe Hero School Program.


Literacy Rules is an instructive writing site that includes a web quest hero search for eighth graders. It includes links to other hero sites, and individual hero biographies.


My Hero is a non-profit educational project to celebrate the best of humanity. It has lesson plans for educators and a directory of several types of heroes. or


Time Magazine maintains this list for Heroes and Icons of the past 100 years.
