MO-TELL  Missouri Storytelling Association

The MO-TELL, Missouri Storytelling Association site is located at www.motell.org. It is a non-profit organization based in Missouri and is one of many found in that state. I did not see any indication that this organization held any biases except to the extent that they think promoting storytelling is a very positive thing to do. The participants are veteran storytellers and those whose links appear on the site are long-time tellers as well. Peter Theodore is listed as the creator of the site and may be contacted by email. Sue Hinkle is also listed as a contact person. I suspect she is the association president or secretary. Anyway she can be contacted by email or "the old fashioned way", too. This site contains a short history of storytelling which was interesting. You definitely get the purpose of the organization spelled out in this area. It also includes a list of storytelling events in and around Missouri for the whole year. I suspect this site is updated only at the beginning of the year. I was not able to find an actual date for this. There is a directory of MO-TELL storytellers with annotations and email addresses. Anyone interested could contact any or all of those tellers associated with this group. Some stories included on one of the pages. These are samples of the stories told by the members of the group. These samples were terrific. There are links to other web sites dealing with storytelling resources such as books, other tellers, associations, etc. This site was enjoyable to view. It was created with care to make sure everything was easy to use and read. It’s lack of clutter was appreciated.
