Title of the Story: I Made You Story Source Material: Story adaptation of You Are Special by Max Lucado. Taletype Classification of the Story: Part Fable; Part Fairytale Story Rating: General Audience Abstract/Summary A little girl’s room is full of unique toys made by her father, Aaron. Every day she chooses one or two to play with and ignores the rest. Sammy is simple wooden dog who is always overlooked. The other toys look down on the toys that aren’t chosen, while the ones that are chosen shine a little brighter just by being picked. As Sammy is overlooked time and again, he reacts with shame. One day, Sammy meets a doll named Hannah who doesn’t seem to mind not being picked and doesn’t shine any brighter when she is chosen. Hannah says the key is talking with their maker, Aaron. Sammy decides to do this, though he is afraid, and that makes all the difference. |
