Title of the Story: Mommy's Kiss Story Source Material: Adaptation of "Kissing Hand" by Audrey Penn Taletype Classification of the Story: Fiction/Personal Story Story Rating: General Audience Abstract/Summary The first day of school can be a very scary thing for any of us but more so for a young child. In this adaptation, I will share with you my personal experience that my daughter and I had with her separation anxiety. At five years of age, children still believe in *magic* and the power of a promise. Holding on these beliefs allowed my daughter to surpass her fears and enjoy her first day at school. She came home victorious from that first day and from then on every first day at a new grade level is not an anxious moment but a moment of rejoice and commencement to her. |
