Title of the Story: Lipstick and Beechnut Story Source Material: Original Story Taletype Classification of the Story: Personal Story Story Rating: General Audience Abstract/Summary The teenage years are challenging for both parent and child, and most often, time is the best cure for the wounds that these tumultuous years inflict. In my home though, we had a secret weapon. That weapon was laughter -- the best medicine -- and it was truly antidotal, if not at times preventive. This story tells of a Saturday when at sixteen, my mother and I traded tricks. These tricks caused us to laugh at ourselves and laugh at each other. In fact, we are still laughing. |
