| DOWNLOADING FILES TO A PC |
To transfer rover files to a PC, connect the GeoExplorer to the PC's com port and select Data Transfer on the GeoExplorer menu. In Pathfinder Office, select Utilities|Data Transfer, this opens the Data Transfer window shown below:

Figure 1. The Data Transfer Window.
If "Connected to GeoExplorer" does not appear on the status line, try changing the Com Port setting. Selecting Data for the Data Type, automatically sets the Direction of data transfer to Receive (meaning the PC will receive data files from the GeoExplorer (a GIS Datalogger device). Selecting a rover file from the list of available files highlights it - selecting "Add" adds the rover file to the list of selected files (you can select and transfer multiple files at the same time). Check that the Destination Directory is your project directory (see Creating A Project). Selecting "Transfer" will transfer the rover files to the PC. Each transferred file is given the extension ".ssf" (Standard Storage Format). Selecting "Close" closes the Data Transfer window and returns you to the Pathfinder Office desktop.
